DUDE. This is a must buy. Not Kidding. Being a LEGO fan, a bought it. The graphics are amazing. you get to do so much more than LEGO Indiana Jones and LEgo Star wars. But, it should be a little more challanging. Overall, this is one of the best games ever.
Insanely fun game... with original Danny Elfman music!

This game is beautiful. Being a huge Batman fan, I had to buy it. I wasn't expecting it to be terrible, but I wasn't expecting it to be mind-blowing either, especially for the Nintendo DS. But it is quite, quite amazing. The graphics are decent, but the thing that really gets my nostalgia wheels turning is the soundtrack from the '89 Batman and Batman Returns by Danny Elfman! I am blown away by the fact that they used this music. I thought that they would just slap some synthesized Nintendo music on it, or some weird dark and brooding stuff that was made at the last second. The music by Elfman really captures the mood of the game and makes you feel like a kid again. It reminds me of the amazing Batman: TAS from the 90's. I get in the same mindset I did when I watch that TV show and it's highly recommended for anyone who calls themselves a Batman fan or just an appreciator of a fun game that kills time. It's a blast.
Endless Fun!

This game rocks! The first night of playing, I think I played through my bedtime. I was too into the game and didn't realize I had to wake up for work in the next few hours!

I'm not much of a gamer and thought maybe this game wouldn't work for me since I'm a 37 year old man but who knew?? This game is great for all ages!

Pros:
- Endless replayability
- You can play as a hero or a villain
- Endless use of gadgets
- Huge city!
- It's funny how the characters interact with each other. A lot of personality.

Cons:
- Being that I'm not a gamer, it took me a while to know where to configure the keyboard to control the characters
- End up playing this game all night long and not realizing you'll have work the next day
Very imaginative and fun for all!

My kids love this game and play it constantly. There is so much to do and you never get bored with the same old thing like in half the games I own. I would recommend this game to anyone with little kids or older kids alike. It really engages my son to problem solve, which he had a hard time doing before. Great game highly recommended!
The best yet, in the outstanding lego series

As a father of two and a long time gamer, I'm a huge fan of the Lego games. Lego Indiana Jones was not quite as good as the Star Wars installments, IMO, however the Batman game reigns supreme! Yes, the quirky AI issues that have plagued the series still exist but they are easy to tolerate given the engaging game play and fun spirited humor that has become a trademark of Lego Video Games. The ability to play as the Villains in Story Mode is a great addition. I also appreciate that the game does not follow any particular movie script.

This game is fun for both adults and children and offers an excellent co-op experience. Even my non-gaming Wife enjoys playing this with the kids. The bottom line is, Lego Batman does not disappoint. Enjoy!
BATMAN gets "blocked" in LEGO

This is the fourth game in the LEGO series and aimed at DC Comics fans of Batman and Batman fans of all ages!
Like the other LEGO games is better to play with the aid of a second player, but this time unlike the LEGO StarWars and Indiana Jones games, puzzles and tasks can be performed without a second player. The puzzles here are challenging but simpler than previous LEGO game releases. But again players must revisit levels time and time again to gather the bat-canisters and red blocks. If all are collected new levels will open.

The controls are very easy to handle/operate, I must mention Batman and most of his friends have special combos when attacking the bad guys, push round and round buttons or round square for alternate moves.

Your mission is to become Batman or any of his allies including Robin, and later as you unlock them; Alfred, Batgirl, Nightwing, Commisioner Gordon and others., to capture the classic super villains of Gotham City including Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freese and others. Once you finished an entirestoryline mission, the game will unlock Arkham Assylum and lets you play as the villains! Depending the number and location of missions you have completed as the good guys, that's how many characters you'll unlock on the bad guys side of the game. This is probably the most original aspect of the game as it lets you become a bad boy or girl and wreck havoc in Gotham City.
Once you complete a mission in story mode you can revisit it many times over in free play and use new characters and vehicles you have unlocked. In the villain side of Arkham Asylum you can create your personal hero/villian male or female, (I tried to recreate the original Batwoman by Bob Kane) in the same manner as in the Lego Indiana Jones game.

Like its previous Lego games, you must find special canisters, red blocks and complete the meter on the screen to unlock all kinds of extra goodies.

The game's soundtrack music is taken directly from the Batman 1989 feature film. The mini movies are very funny and quite original. Though it might feel as a repetition of previous games to expert gamers, to Batman and Lego fans is quite the treat! I highly recommend it for all fans young and old like me, lol!

Note that all characters have their own distictive animation and movements and expressions aside from the ones in the mini movies.
